The First International Conference on Language, Discourse, and Knowledge (LDK 2024) will be held in Galway, Ireland, on June 19-20, 2024. The conference is organized by the National University of Ireland, Galway, and the University of Limerick.
LDK 2024 is a multidisciplinary conference that brings together scholars from a variety of fields, including linguistics, philosophy, cognitive science, anthropology, and sociology. The conference will explore the relationship between language, discourse, and knowledge, and how these three elements interact to shape our understanding of the world.

The keynote speakers for LDK 2024 are:
- Professor Michael Halliday, University of Sydney
- Professor Teun van Dijk, University of Amsterdam
- Professor Norman Fairclough, Lancaster University
LDK 2024 invites submissions for papers on any topic related to the conference themes. Papers should be no more than 5,000 words in length and should be submitted electronically through the conference website. The deadline for submissions is March 15, 2024.
Early bird registration for LDK 2024 is open until May 15, 2024. The registration fee is €250 for early bird registration and €300 for regular registration.
A number of hotels in Galway are offering discounted rates for conference attendees. Attendees can book their accommodation through the conference website.
Galway is located on the west coast of Ireland. The city is served by air, train, and bus.
- By air: Galway Airport (GWY) is located 8 km from the city center. There are direct flights to Galway from Dublin, London, and other major European cities.
- By train: Galway is connected to Dublin and other major Irish cities by train. The train station is located in the city center.
